4 Things Working Moms Should Do Every Day

This is what a working mom’s day looks like – Get up in the morning, rush to get your kids ready, prepare breakfast (5 different kinds because everyone likes something SPECIFIC), get your kids to school, help them with their studies, prepare a presentation for work, meet deadlines, pay bills, get used to lack of sleep, don’t think about a day off at the office or at home ….phewwww! I am sure I forgot to mention fifty odd responsibilities!

While trying to strike off all the to-do’s mentioned above, working moms often forget to pay attention to THEMSELVES.

In the spirit of making motherhood enjoyable (by enjoyable we mean easy) moms should start doing these 4 things everyday:

The road to delegation:
You do it at work all the time, it comes naturally there so why not at home? Burdening yourself with more and more domestic responsibilities adds more stress to your already demanding and hectic life. If delegation seems a farfetched theory for you then take baby steps towards this blissful road. Ask your husband to drop the kids off to their school, let him take out the trash on alternate days and hire household help if you can for other small jobs. Remember, the time thus saved can be well spent with your family.

Don’t be too hard on yourself:
Motherhood isn’t for the faint of heart. Imagine how tough you must be to worry about everything 24*7. Moms already have their plates full with a number of responsibilities, being tough on themselves is just what they DON’T need. So, do yourself a favor and indulge in some self-forgiveness (PS: Nobody cares if the eggs were under/over cooked, so stop stressing yourself!)

Don’t compromise with your food:
When was the last time you had a real meal? When I say real I don’t mean, remaining bites of chapatti and peas and sandwich crusts left behind by your toddler – this my friend is not the definition of a nutritious meal! Your body needs nourishment, and while you fuss over your child’s nutritional needs its high time you started doing the same for yourself.

Find a school that you can count on:

If your child is ready for preschool then make sure you have chosen the school astutely. The best preschools that are accredited by advanced preschool accreditation like QualityKG ensure that the school staff is there to help you and your child through his preschool days. They teach your child how to grow emotionally and socially in a safe and positive preschool environment and they teach you how to be an involved parent without weighing you down. With such helpful preschool development programs, you can get all the support you need!
